Adam’s Polishes Graphene Ceramic Coating – What is it?

A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer, primarily comprised of silica and titanium dioxide, that chemically bonds to your vehicle’s exterior or interior surfaces. When those two chemicals bond together, they create a hydrophobic barrier that protects your paint from the elements. Adam’s Pro Ceramic Coating helps protect your vehicle from UV rays, insect acids, rain, bird droppings, oxidation, light swirls and scratches.

Think of a ceramic coating as an additional layer of protection that sits on top of your paint clear coat. Adam’s Polishes has several different ceramic coatings that can be applied to various parts of your vehicle for an added layer of protection. We offer different types of coating applications to protect your vehicle.

  • Adam’s Graphene Ceramic Coating
  • Adam’s Wheel Coating

What are the benefits of Adam’s Graphene Ceramic Coating?

Having a ceramic coating on your vehicle has several benefits. We will list them below but let’s touch base on an important one. It typically takes anywhere between 1-2 hours to wash a relatively clean vehicle properly. One of the major benefits, at least for us, is the amount of time we save washing ceramic coated vehicles.

A ceramic coating creates surface tension on your vehicle’s exterior surfaces to deter dirt and debris build-up which makes cleaner your vehicle easier. The drying process is also easier after you have washed your vehicle. In the shop, we use compressed air with a filter to blow dry our vehicles. The water literally sheds off of the vehicle. Some other benefits of having a ceramic coating applied to your vehicle include:

  • An added layer of protection against the elements
  • Cost-effective (One time cost for coating compared to quarterly wax applications)
  • Saves time
  • Enhances gloss
  • Keeps your vehicle cleaner for longer

How do you apply a ceramic coating?

The most important part of the ceramic coating process is the prep work. I will break down our coating process and touch base on a few important parts below. Adam’s Underground Graphene Ceramic Coating Process:

  • Exterior Wash
  • Decontaminate Paint (Clay Bar / Iron Remover)
  • Thoroughly Dry Vehicle
  • Tape off exterior trim
  • Perform a minimum 1-step paint correction
  • Surface prep before coating application (alcohol-based product to remove oils and other contaminants from washing process)
  • Apply Adam’s Polishes Graphene Ceramic Coating
  • Prepare vehicle for customer delivery (Dress tires, clean windows, clean door jambs)

The prep process is so important because you want to perfect the paint surface before applying the ceramic coating. The whole reason of the coating is to create a protective layer above your clear coat. If you just applied the coating to an imperfect surface it will simply fill in the imperfections. Below is a diagram of what we are talking about.
